Standard Four: Human Resource Leadership
One of the most important aspects of human resource management deals with the hiring of faculty and staff. Therefore I took every opportunity to serve on hiring committees for new vacancies during the school year. During this process, I learned about the development of interview questions, selection of an interview team, and the construction of a performance based task. Hiring is one of the most critical parts of building a strong staff. Learning the process by which we not only assess a candidate's knowledge but their soft skills of problem solving and communication through performance-based tasks was truly a beneficial experience I will carry on with me throughout my journey.
